The Altima has received the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) highest rating – 5 stars – for front- and side-impact crash safety. [1]

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Vehicle Guide gives all light duty vehicles two emissions scores: a Greenhouse Gas Score and an Air Pollution Score. The scores range from 1 to 10, with 10 being the least polluting. Altima Coupe received at least a 9 on both emissions scores to earn SmartWay® Elite certification.
